Minimalist Vegan Lifestyle

While a vegan life style is most prominent in my life, minimalism has also taken a huge part of it as well. And for good reason!
I have been absolutely loving my more minimalist vegan lifestyle lately.

I turned 29 this past summer, and it got me really thinking about my life and how I want to live, and to get my shhhh together.

Throughout my life the entire way up until early 2023, I really lived a very cluttered, all over the place kind of life.

Never really simplifying and streamlining things in my life, to allow more time to just enjoy living. To enjoy the ride.
(I’m def not someone that can relax while visual and mental clutter are about, so it really affects me)

Moving several times in my 20s (sometimes very short notice) made decluttering and really sorting through/organizing things a disaster, and the constant tending to things just made me exhausted and not want to deal with any of it.

Just buying things without thinking much didn’t help either, as well as living with people who had absolutely no boundaries with organization and budgeting.

It has been a process, and a good one though.

I finally decluttered a good portion of my entire life basically. From paperwork, to decor, to my closet, to my care products, to meals, to my socials and devices. Yep, everything.

Time to downsize and simplify babes.

And it feels amazing.

So, in this post I am going to be laying out my guidelines that I personally stick to to keep a minimalistic life, while also a vegan, along with tips and inspiration for doing so yourself.

Life really does feel so much better without clutter, a million todos, and just things hanging over your head constantly.
Level up and thrive with me! ♡

The biggest tip I have overall? Find the things you enjoy most and allow the most time for those aspects in your day. Try to automate and streamline everything else.

Main Purge Areas

1. Living space
2. Care products
3. Clothes
4. Devices
5. Pet items
6. Food/meals
7. Paperwork

Living space – I decluttered my physical living space, purged items, organized, and got some better items to help me organize and feel good in the space. Nothing crazy, just a minimalism touch and the vibe I like.

Even if you are more maximalist with decor, simply keeping things organized and nice will make a huge difference for your vibe in your space if you don’t want to go too minimalist!

Care products – So many of us have wayyyy too many care products. Easy to keep buying when there are so much goodies available and new things coming out all the time. Not to mention constant influencing. But, use up/get rid of expired and just products you don’t want any more (esp if not vegan/cf, but I also support using up and not wasting if that’s a thing for you too)
Developing a simple care routine that works for you and sticking to faves is a great way to keep a small but effective routine, plus some extras like bath bars and any luxury items you really truly do want.

Clothes – This is a HUGEEE one for me. I had way too many clothes, and lots that didn’t fit me anymore. I had so many options I didn’t know what I even wanted to wear half the time, and mostly just chose old gross clothes I didn’t even want anymore to “save” the better things for another day. Well, I started making every day special and forcing myself to wear those nice things, no matter what day it was. And I’m happy I did because now, I feel so much better with what I wear.

I cleared out my current closet of anything I didn’t really truly feel joy with anymore, kept some faves, and got some new things to freshen up. Simple, minimalist pieces that are workable with many things, and help me feel good and put together every single day.
I am also limiting myself to two “big” hauls a year (which isn’t super big realistically, it just means I get some new items to add, when I clear out some others)

Also, purses/bags included! Clean and organize that baby, so you feel simple and organized even on the go. Don’t carry around a garbage bag!

Devices – Devices are so prone to clutter too, and having mine filled with things I don’t even need random things, screenshots, etc, was still stressing me out 😥 So that is where a device review comes in to play, deleting things no longer needed, organizing files and apps I do want, etc.
Even doing a physcial clean on them.
One thing I needed was a new laptop, so I did splurge on that, truly giving me a clean slate which I love.

Having apps/software to help you organize and keep life in order is a bonus! & don’t let those get clogged up either the best you can.
(Personally, I use Notion! If you are interested in a template, I’m going to try to make one to share soon!)

Pet items – If you are a pet parent like me, you know how easy it is to collect tons of unnecessary pet items. Sure, we all love to spoil our babies, but if there are old toys and items not needed, donate or get rid, and organize what you are keeping for streamlined, easy, days.

Food/meals – Cooking things for every meal since I work from home really started taking up way too much of my time. (If you love cooking though, do your thing of course!)
Time I wanted to spend doing other, better things. So, I started meal prepping the heck outta my daily meals.
Mostly lunches, but some dinners as well. I got these beautiful glass meal prep containers, and they make prepping SO easy and organized.
I love meal prepping now, and Taking 1-2 hours out of one day saves me even more hours the whole rest of the week.
I prep some dinners while I do cook some fresh as I desire to.

Along with this, making clean, healthy, vegan meals makes me feel so good about what I am eating as well, knowing I’m making the best choices I can (at least most of the time 😊)

Paperwork – Probably the one I dreaded most, but felt so so good once getting it done. I had so many papers collected from years of moving/chaos and not wanting to deal, and finally got them good to go at the end of last year (2023). I now have everything nicely categorized, organized, and clean looking so I can feel good about having all my important life papers and receipts as I need them.

Even just writing this out was so therapeutic and is helping me get motivated for the cleaning and resetting I need to do today again. 😆

So I’m helping you, also helping me, it’s a vibe.

I really hope this helps on your more minimalistic journey.

It not only helps you, but helps cut down on overconsumption, waste, etc. to help our world as a whole!

(One thing that really got me in gear for this is watching other’s inspiration – on YouTube, ect. It really gets you into the mood. Highly recommend!)

Be sure to follow me on socials as I’ll be posting more of this type content as well.
(Meal prepping is already here!)

Here’s to so much more living and less chore/to do type activity in this new year.
We got this! ♡

with love,
